On Sunday 21 February Mark Littlejohn and Doug Chinnery organised a Photography Charity Fundraiser in aid of the Cumbria Flood Appeal. I was fortunate enough to secure a place on one of the walks. It was a gentle ramble from Glenridding up to Lanty's Tarn and Keldas with Russ Barnes, Mark Littlejohn and Colin Bell.
The Flying Scotsman
The Flying Scotsman has been out of view and almost out of mind for 10 years whilst it has undergone an major refurbishment.
South Gare
Whilst in Whitby I took the time to explore other areas of the coast. Having watched Joe Cornish's DVD With Landscape in Mind I decided to drive 40 minutes up the coast and see what South Gare had to offer.
Whitby Sunset
Every evening when I was on holiday I walked down to the North Pier to take in the air and admire the sea.
Saltwick Bay Sunrise
I got up at 6.30am to get there before first light. As I was putting on my wellies I could see that the sky was starting to turn an amazing deep red and there was still an hour left before sunrise but I didn't want to miss a moment.
York Floods 2015
Storm Eva struck the North of England on Boxing Day and after a day of horror in Lancashire I returned home promptly.
Northumberland in November 2015
As I haven't had a seaside holiday this year I decided that I would book myself into a cottage in Amble from which I could fill my boots with sea, photography and walks
#Wexmondays Sunrise at Bamburgh Castle
I recently went to Northumberland for a week for some R&R after my mum died. The plan was to take photographs in some of my favourite locations, find some new beaches, and to walk along them to clear my head.
Padley Gorge and Bole Hill Quarry
When I wasn't freezing and getting blown to bits on Higger Tor and Millstone Edge I explored the area around Grindleford: Bole Hill Quarry and Padley Gorge.
Peak District Sunsets
A few weeks ago I booked myself on a last minute break to the Peak District and took full advantage of the change in the clock back to GMT.
Byland Abbey Woods
When I went to Byland Abbey recently what I witnessed was so spectacular that it took my breath away. The morning mist was still lingering in the trees and the strong sunlight created some amazing sunbeams.
Lake District in September
In addition to standing and admiring the Langdale Pikes from every conceivable angle I did get out and about elsewhere in the Lake District. I decided that I would explore some different places which led me to the Duddon Valley and Dovedale (near Brotherswater).
Langdale Pikes - September 2015
I have just returned from a wonderful week's holiday in the Lake District during which I went on numerous walks and trips and many of them seemed to involve the Langdale Pikes.
Bridlington Sea Fog
After going on a boat trip to photograph gannets I decided that it would be a good idea for our seaside project to focus on one seaside town and capture the different aspects of it. Consequently I chose Bridlington as there appear to be so many areas to explore.
Flamborough Head
The thing I love about Flamborough is that there are so many bays and headlands to explore.
Lake District Holiday - July 2015
I found a wonderful cottage right in the centre of Grasmere which enabled me to embalk on walks right from the front door.
Lake District Sunset
I have just returned from a week's holiday in the Lake District and after a day's walking I ventured out a few times to capture sunset.
Gannets!
At the end of June I signed up for a boat trip to photograph birds off Bempton Cliffs and in particular diving gannets.
Scotland Lochs and Coast
Whilst I love being in the hills and mountains I also adore sitting alongside the sea or any water listening to the waves washing relentlessly against the shore
Scotland Mountains
I adore travelling to Scotland as the mountains, rivers and lochs are on a grander scale than the Lake District and the roads are so quiet and relatively wide.
