Monochrome Photography

Whilst most of my photographs are edited in colour there are many that I take with the intention of converting to black and white. This is done to either enhance the mood of the scene or to amplify the tones and textures.

I have enjoyed giving talks to a few camera clubs and photographic societies about my monochrome photography and decided that it is a natural progression to put a selection on my website.

The photographs in this portfolio are mostly landscapes as I find that seascapes are best edited in colour. The colours and reflections on the water and in the sky are often too subtle to register in monochrome and it is usually the colours and their interaction with the water that attracted my attention in the first place. However, I have noticed that a few sheep have made the cut but those of you who follow me on Facebook or Instagram already know that I can’t resist photographing sheep and lambs!
