I recently signed up for a last minute place on a workshop in the Lake District with Alexander Hare and Lizzie Shepherd. The workshop was based in Borrowdale which I know very well, but that wasn’t an issue as November isn’t a time when I usually visit so I knew conditions would be different.
Different isn’t the term I would use in hindsight as we experienced 3 days of unremitting rain, some of which was torrential. We, our kit and waterproofs were tested to the limit. However, there was only one afternoon when we retreated to the bar of the hotel so perhaps I am exaggerating? (No I’m not!).
Even though I know the area well there were still a few surprises in the locations visited and seeing the woods with their autumn coats and the huge amount of water everywhere made for exciting photography.
