Amble Shoreline

I very much enjoyed my week in Amble at the start of December as I was able to take full advantage of the tides as high tide fell in the afternoons which mostly coincided with sunset. There were a few evenings when there was no light but there were also some that were magical and I felt so privileged to be able to watch the day draw to a close and try to capture it all with my camera. I loved the lines formed on the sand and around the rocks by the strong waves retreating to the sea and as there was so much to see close to base there was no urge to travel far afield.

The high tides did cause logistical problems as on a couple of occasions when I was pinned to the bottom of the cliff and sand dunes and I couldn’t afford to take my eyes off the waves roaring onto the shore. They were relentless throughout the week which made for spectacular photographs but these were offset by mild peril! I did keep my feet dry although there were a few close calls.

I didn’t venture far from Amble or Cresswell although I did get as far north as Cullernose Point and I had a walk along the coast to Silver Sands. I am very much looking forward to returning next year.
