Northumberland Coast

I regularly travel up to Northumberland for holidays so close to the sea that I am almost falling in.  The beaches are magnificent and expansive and even after a few trips I am discovering, or being told about, new secret places that I love straight away.  I regularly stay in Amble with it's friendly atmosphere and lovely harbour. Taking a lot of photographs around Amble means that Coquet Island can appear in a lot of my images so I do have to work the angles to keep it out of view. I love to watch for shapes made by the sea on the shore with sand and rocks although I am happy to photograph anything that catches my eye.

December is the time I like to visit as the beaches are quiet and the light is lovely throughout the day. Yes, it can be cold and wet but as the days are short Iā€™m not suffering too much. However, every time that I visit I discover a new beach and location for photographs and there are far too many places to see in a single week.
